Rental Terms
All vehicle rentals are governed by a comprehensive Rental Agreement, which you will receive upon booking confirmation or at the time of vehicle collection. This agreement outlines the specific terms, conditions, insurance coverage, applicable charges, and your obligations for that rental. In case of any discrepancies between these Terms and the Rental Agreement, the Rental Agreement will prevail.
Eligibility Criteria
Vehicle Rental Requirements
- To rent a vehicle, you must be at least 21 years old, although some vehicle categories may have different age requirements and potential fees for drivers under 25. You need a valid driving licence suitable for the vehicle type, held for the duration stated in the Rental Agreement. Additionally, present valid identification and proof of your current address, along with payment information and a security deposit. Comply with any other requirements outlined in the Rental Agreement.
Reservations and Payments
- Reservations can be made via our website, by telephone, or at our Dartford location. A deposit may be necessary to confirm your booking. The remaining balance and security deposit are usually required upon vehicle pickup. Prices are stated in British Pounds (£) and include VAT where applicable. We accept all major credit and debit cards, ensuring secure transactions through trusted payment processors.
Vehicle Pickup and Drop-off
- At the time of vehicle collection, it is imperative to conduct a thorough inspection and promptly report any pre-existing damage. A vehicle condition report will be created and signed to document the state of the vehicle. When returning the vehicle, it should be in the same condition as when it was collected, considering only normal wear and tear. Any new damage will be evaluated and charged as necessary. Ensure the vehicle is returned with the same fuel level as received; otherwise, refueling charges will apply. Late returns may result in additional fees, so please notify us if you anticipate a delay. You will be accountable for any parking fines, traffic violations, or other charges incurred during your rental period, in addition to an administration fee.
5. Coverage and Responsibility
- All rentals include basic third-party insurance. Details regarding coverage and excess amounts can be found in your Rental Agreement. Additional insurance options may be offered to help lower your financial liability. Please review these options closely. You will be liable for any damage or loss up to the insurance excess, unless you opt for extra coverage. Damage resulting from negligence, misuse, or violation of these Terms remains your responsibility, regardless of insurance.
Cancellation and Modifications
Cancellation and amendment policies differ based on the type of booking and the notice provided. For precise information, consult your booking confirmation or Rental Agreement. Be aware that late cancellations or failure to show may incur additional charges.
Prohibited Sale Activities
Prohibited Vehicle Uses
- The vehicle must not be used for any illegal activities. This includes racing, rallying, off-roading, or other high-risk behaviors. Transporting hazardous materials is prohibited. Sub-letting the vehicle or permitting unauthorized drivers is not allowed. Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs is strictly forbidden. Additionally, do not exceed the designated passenger or weight limits or drive beyond the agreed geographic boundaries without proper authorization.
Breach of these terms may lead to rental termination and extra fees.
Liability Limitations
To the fullest extent allowed by English and Welsh law, Car Hire will not be responsible for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, including loss of profits, data, or business, resulting from your use of our services. Our total liability for any claims will not exceed the sum you paid for the rental within the last 12 months. This limitation does not apply to liability for death or personal injury due to negligence or for fraudulent actions.
Sales Regulations
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be resolved exclusively in the courts of England and Wales.
10. Term Modifications
We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. Changes take effect immediately upon posting on our website. Continued use of our services indicates acceptance of the revised Terms.
